This video show you what's about Video Units from Google. It's a good start to learn the basic functions of Video Units. At this moment, only limited video clips on YouTube show case the new service. But it's just a temporary scenario, there will be more video contents coming on the way to share how to monetize Video Units. For those who familiar with Google AdSense, this should be an "upgraded" way to maximine their web's space. Since the Video Units is come in larger size than any textual ads format, publishers have to prepare to scarifire more web space.
The Video Units service will only available for US and Can users at this moment. General Google AdSense users will make available after 9/10/2007. Since Video Units official video made available at YouTube.com, the opportunity to apply this new service it just at the corner, cool huh?

Couple days ago, I written a post about Start to Make Money with Google Video. Today, I am sharing more while I am learning what's about Video Units from Google. This new service from Google and YouTube should be the next online ads standard - at this moment, non of the online video service provider like Yahoo, Metacafe or Revver are offering video + ads for their publishers or advertisers.
Video Units is a part of Google's Products and Features that allow members to enrich their web content with the video units at the same time to help publishers generate extra income.
According to Google, publishers have to place a video unit on their website just like other Google Product that required a space in your site to publisher the ads. Ads on video units can be paid on either a cost-per-click or cost-per-thousand impression basis - this is something old fashion way like Google AdSense but appear in video units mode.
There are two types of ads formats appear with the video content within the player. Google call it Companion Ads - a new term to learn!! Below is how the Video Units look like and please take note of the Companion Ads at the top and bottom of the Video Units.

Joost.com is go live few days ago! Visitors allow to sign up account with Joost.com and start to experience the new online media center! Yes, is it a media center that provide alternative materials compare to YouTube.com
I like Joost interface and it design. No more boring design like many online media/video sites that provide free services. Joost apply black colour as the background colour able to provide cinema experience when I viewed it with my HDTV set. Joost allow users to view in full screen mode, that is one of the many function I like, I tested it with my 42" Panasonic Plasma TV, you bet the quality and streaming speed. Both served me well with real online media experience.
However, as a free service site Joost need more advertisers to support it. At this moment, there is sign of various ads on Joost, spotted Nokia and Adidas there with some great art works. Of course Joost is borned to make money, online advertisment should be the ultimate direction for Joost. We will see that in future but hope for different ads format, no longer provide boring TV ads.
